Corporate outreach

Many corporations have come to realize the benefits of educational outreach activities.

Sometimes these are very directed benefits such as investing in local community relations to help ease longer-term workforce hiring needs. On other occasions, corporate industry wishes to develop and maintain its goodwill image in the marketplace.

A growing number of corporations see benefit in contributing to schools and school systems, to help young people achieve educational goals.

Educational Visions believes that corporate outreach can provide added value to education in terms of learning resources and experiences that enhance understanding and promote students’ chances in life.

EV is happy to work with corporations that share this ethic and help them to achieve their goals for the benefit of all concerned.

Intergenerational learning

Within informal education circles, intergenerational learning, where people of different generations help each other learn in informal settings, is a growing phenomenon.

For example, over the next decade the vast membership of the “baby-boomer” generation will reach retirement. Many will be well educated and highly experienced persons with many years of active life ahead of them, yet with time available for volunteering.

This group represents a large human resource, deeply interested in their own grandchildren and, through them, other school-aged children.

EV personnel have become involved in a number of projects that explore the potential of pairing these generations. It has expertise in setting up such programs and the ability to craft projects, training, and materials that will ensure successful outcomes for all concerned.
